Looking for something engaging to do over the summer? MIT has some fantastic summer opportunities.
My name is Reimi Hicks, Associate Director of Recruitment and Admissions with MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES). I’m excited to share information about our FREE programs and encourage your students to apply. We know that many students learn about our programs through trusted educators like you, and we deeply appreciate your partnership and the incredible work you do to support them.
MITES offers free, immersive outreach programs that provide transformative experiences for students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. Our goal is to offer bright, motivated students with a passion for STEM the tools they need to build confidence, form lifelong connections, and establish a solid foundation for their future careers.
Whether through our six-week residential experience, MITES Summer, or virtually through MITES Semester, students will find opportunities to deepen their knowledge and explore their passions for STEM.
MITES Summer
MITES Summer is a six-week residential program at MIT, where students from across the country experience college life while taking five demanding courses in math, science, and the humanities. The program features lab tours, social events, and college admissions counseling, allowing participants to explore the rewards of STEM education and careers. Through MITES Summer, students develop both academic and personal skills essential for success in higher education and beyond.
MITES Semester
MITES Semester is a six-month virtual program for high school seniors nationwide that combines online learning with college preparation. Running from June to December, the program includes rigorous online courses, weekly webinars, social events, workshops, and peer meetings in the fall. It also provides students with college admissions counseling, networking opportunities with STEM professionals, and a supportive community of like-minded peers. MITES Semester equips students with the skills and confidence needed for academic and career success in STEM.
