Perspectives on Pomona College

We're thrilled to announce that applications are officially open for our annual fall program, Perspectives on Pomona (POP).Are your students interested in experiencing Pomona College firsthand? POP gives seniors the opportunity to visit our beautiful campus, connect with friendly students, and engage with our esteemed faculty.

What is Perspectives on Pomona?

Perspectives on Pomona (POP) is a free, on-campus program for high school seniors. POP allows prospective students like your students to immerse themselves in the Pomona community and discover our resources! Through POP, we hope participants gain a deeper understanding of Pomona and explore the possibility of joining our vibrant community. POP welcomes all eligible high school seniors, including undocumented and DACA students. Intentional programming promotes success of historically underrepresented populations in higher education.  We cover costs for transportation, meals, and lodging for the duration of the program. Participants can choose to have Pomona prepay these expenses or pay themselves and be reimbursed later.

What are the program dates?

Students can join us for one of three Fall 2024 fly-in programs: one On-Campus program or two Virtual program options.

The On-Campus program will occur from Sunday, October 6 to Tuesday, October 8 in Claremont, California. Participants selected to attend the On-Campus program are provided funding that covers transportation, lodging, and meals for the duration of the program. The two Virtual programs will consist of one half-day remote session. Applicants selected to participate in the Virtual program may attend either the evening of Thursday, October 24 or the morning of Saturday, October 26.

When is the deadline?

Applicants interested in the On-Campus program must submit an application to be considered for both the On-Campus and Virtual programs by Monday, August 12. Once applications are submitted and reviewed, we will notify applicants if they are invited to attend the On-Campus or Virtual program dates.

To be considered for either Virtual program exclusively, students must submit the application to the Virtual program by Friday, September 30. Once applications are submitted and reviewed, we will notify applicants if they are invited to attend the Virtual program.

How can students apply?

To complete the application for Fall POP, students need to click the link below, create an account if they do not have one yet, and select the "2025 Fall POP" application. Then, submit the following by the deadline of their program of choice:

(1) Completed application (Both Programs)

(2) Unofficial transcript that includes final grades from 9-11 grades (Both Programs)

(3) Short essay response (On-Campus Program Only)

Applying is simple! We do not ask for letters of recommendation, test scores, honors/awards, or extracurricular activities. We are eager to learn about your students' educational journey in this process, and as such, encourage them to apply to the best of their ability.

We invite you and your students to email us if you have questions!

Chirp, Chirp!
